چکیده

When using spectral methods, a consistent method for tuning the expansion order is often required, especially time-dependent problems in which oscillations emerge solution. In this paper, we propose frequency-dependent p-adaptive technique that adaptively adjusts based on frequency indicator. Using technique, combined with recently proposed scaling and moving techniques, are able to devise an adaptive unbounded domains can capture handle diffusion, advection, oscillations. As application, use numerically solve Schrödinger's equation domain successfully solution's oscillatory behavior at infinity.

Adaptive Frequency Warping for Improved Spectral Modeling

The compact representation of harmonic amplitudes in the sinusoidal coding of voiced speech is often achieved by the all-pole modeling of a spectral envelope. The perceptual accuracy of the representation may be enhanced by the use of frequency-scale warping prior to LP modeling. The effectiveness of a frequency warping function has been shown in previous work to depend on the underlying signal...

A Cross-Adaptive Dynamic Spectral Panning Technique

This work presents an algorithm that is able to achieve novel spatialization effects on multitrack audio signals. It relies on a crossadaptive framework that dynamically maps the azimuth positions of each track’s time-frequency bins with the goal of reducing masking between source signals by dynamically separating them across space. The outputs of this system are compared to traditional panning...

Adaptive Spectral Methods for Simulation Output Analysis

This paper addresses two central problems in simulation methodology: the generation of conjidence intervals for the steady state means of the output sequences and the sequential use of these conjidence intervals to control the run length. The variance of the sample mean of a covariance stationary process is given approximately by p(O)lN, where p( f ) is the spectral density at frequency f and N...

Adaptive Smoothing Methods for Frequency-domain Identification

The determination of resolution parameter when estimating frequency functions of linear systems is a trade-off between bias and variance. Traditional approaches, like “window-closing” employ a global resolution parameter – the window width – that is tuned by ad hoc methods, usually visual inspection of the results. Here we explore more sophisticated estimation methods, based on local polynomial...
